WOWOW Restructures Management Team & Departments

TOKYO: WOWOW has made some changes to its executive leadership team and has implemented a divisional realignment meant to expand its business.

The company's production department will be led by Tetsuya Nasuno, effective immediately. Nasuno will be responsible for the production sub-divisions (TV, movies, sports, drama and music) and the functions within each category, including acquisitions, development, production and more.

The programming department, which includes WOWOW's Los Angeles office led by Kayo Washio, will now be run by seasoned producer Eiji Omura. The company has also created a new digital content development arm, which is becoming part of the programming division.

Akira Fujimori has been appointed to head up the corporate strategy department. Meanwhile, Hitoshi Yamamoto, Masanori Gunji and Masato Konishi will continue to lead the marketing, sales, and business and entertainment development divisions, respectively. Yoshiro Minezaki is in charge of engineering.

Joining the WOWOW board are Nobuyuki Otaka, the former general manager of the corporate strategy department; and Tsutomu Makino, the former general manager of the programming division. Current board members include Ichiro Yamazaki and Nobutsune Sakata. The company's executive managing directors are Hajime Hashimoto and Kazuhito Sato.
