HONG KONG: TV5MONDE has inked its first distribution deal in the Asia-Pacific region for the new lifestyle network TV5MONDE Style HD with Mongolian DTH operator DDishTV.

Under the agreement, TV5MONDE Style HD can now be accessed by more than 150,000 customers in Mongolia. DDishTV offers 90-plus channels around the country. It is currently the only DTH operator in Mongolia, where TV5MONDE Asie is already available.

Alexandre Muller, managing director for APAC at TV5MONDE, stated: "We are thrilled to add TV5MONDE Style HD to DDishTV subscribers. This new partnership will allow us to bring to Mongolian audiences new content and new perspectives in high definition."

Ganbold Dendev, general director of DDishTV, added: "The modern European culture was introduced to Mongolia's nomadic country by Soviet Union at the beginning of the 20th century. Even though there is still a language deficit, people look forward to Western and French culture, especially fashion and lifestyle. We are glad to introduce [for the] first time [a] modern, real French lifestyle channel in our International Package with great support [from the] TV5MONDE team."
