HONG KONG: Simon Twiston Davies, who is stepping down as CEO of CASBAA as of December 31, has been honored with the annual CASBAA Chairman’s Award at the final day of the Convention in Hong Kong.

The new CEO, Christopher Slaughter, steps into the role at the start of 2013. Twiston Davies has held the post since 2000, during which time the CASBAA membership has doubled.

"Under Twiston Davies’ management CASBAA has become a central industry voice for the multichannel TV industry across 18 Asia-Pacific markets running from Japan to Pakistan; China to Australasia and beyond," said CASBAA chairman Marcel Fenez.

"Most importantly, CASBAA has become the ‘go-to’ industry body in Asia if you are a serious multichannel TV player, or want to be one. That is Twiston Davies’ most notable contribution," added Fenez.
