Passion Sends Programming to Oz

LONDON: Over the past three months, Passion Distribution has placed more than 150 hours of programming with broadcasters in Australia.

For ABC2, ABC TV licensed Firecracker Films' Diary of a Teenage Virgin, Mentorn Media's The Fried Chicken Shop: Life in a Day and SnagFilms' Lost for Life. Nine Network went for Mentorn Media's World's Worst Holiday Horrors, Firecracker Films' Don't Look Down and Rain Media Entertainment's Joanna Lumley Meets Will.I.Am.

SBS snapped up the free-to-air second window rights for the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race (World of Wonder) for its SBS 2 channel. The company also ordered additional episodes of Unreported World (Quicksilver Media) for the current affairs show Dateline.

For 7 Mate, Seven Network acquired Paperny Entertainment's Klondike Gold Fever and season one of High Noon Entertainment's Prospectors. The free digital network is also getting the second window to Baggage Battles (Scripps Networks International). In addition, Seven picked up Craziest Christmas Lights (Reef Television and GroupM Entertainment) for its primary channel. Meanwhile, Network Ten licensed SNI's Garage Gold for broadcast on One.

Magic Man (SNI) was taken by National Geographic Channels for its Australia and New Zealand feed. Foxtel inked a deal that sees more than 50 hours of SNI titles, including Kitchen Crashers and Power Broker, heading to its Lifestyle Home network. Foxtel also snapped up Mentorn Media's John Torode's Australia for its Lifestyle Food channel.
