TOKYO: Atsushi Hatayama has become the new president of international business development at Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV).

Hatayama comes from Nippon TV’s news department and is based in Tokyo. He is replacing Yukiko Kimishima, who has been appointed president of Nippon TV International Corporation and will relocate from Tokyo to New York City on July 1. He is also expected to establish new relationships in additional territories.

Hatayama first joined Nippon TV’s new division in 1984. After serving as a foreign news reporter, he became bureau chief of the Cairo News Bureau in 1990 and then was named bureau chief of the New York News Bureau in 1998. In 2011, Hatayama was based in Taipei as VP of CNplus Production, a joint venture between Nippon TV and Taiwan’s CTI. He then returned to Japan in 2014 as executive VP of Nippon TV’s news division.
