MUMBAI: Endemol India, now 49-percent owned by Peter Chernin‘s CA Media, has made two new executive appointments: Abhishek Rege as COO of television and Doris Dey as head of fiction.

In April, Chernin’s Asian investment arm, CA Media, announced its investment in Endemol’s Indian operation. With the capital investment, Endemol India is embarking on an aggressive expansion into the scripted and regional TV arenas, as well as feature films.

In his new role, Rege—who joins the company from Viacom18, where he oversaw business operations for Colors in the U.S.—will be responsible for strategic operations specific to the production of new shows for television across the country. Dey is tasked with driving the development of new drama concepts.

Deepak Dhar, CEO of Endemol India, noted, “The last one year has been very exciting for Endemol India, with the new concepts being accepted wholeheartedly and the existing formats progressing to their much awaited seasons. As we move into our next phase of growth, it’s critical to have a structure that supports our ambitions and fuels expansion. Abhishek and Doris come with a vast experience and I am convinced that both the professionals will drive our most ambitious phase.”
