Mediacorp Adds New Kids’ Content & More to okto

Mediacorp is bolstering its Singaporean channel okto with the addition of new children’s and sports programming.

okto jr offers content for viewers between the ages of 4 and 6 that is meant to encourage learning, community bonding and bilingualism, with more than 50 percent original local series. Titles include Junction Tree, Singapore’s first bilingual preschool show, and Ollie & Friends. okto jr broadcasts weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. okto also features programming for kids aged 7 to 12 on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and weekends between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

oktoSports, meanwhile, presents premium athletic action from Singapore and around the globe. Aimed at fans between the ages of 18 and 39, oktoSports will carry live Italian Serie A matches, FA cup matches, 2017 International Champions Cup Singapore (ICC Singapore) and other world-class sports events. The channel will also feature ASEAN School Games 2017 and National School Games 2018, as well as a new game show, Super 100. It will air from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Fridays; 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturdays; and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Sundays.
