HONG KONG: Next week, HBO GO is set to launch as a standalone OTT service in Hong Kong, the first time the digital service is available in Asia without a TV-package subscription.

The online streaming hub will debut April 13, giving users access to HBO and CINEMAX content via smartphones, tablets, laptops and other devices. HBO GO can be downloaded from iTunes for iPhone owners, or from Google Play for Android devices.

“The standalone OTT HBO GO service in Hong Kong now offers any viewer with an internet connection access to their favorite HBO and CINEMAX Original content,” said Jonathan Spink, the CEO of HBO Asia. “HBO GO offers subscribers more choice and control over what they want to watch, when they want to watch it, and across multiple devices, whether at home or on the go.”
