HBO Asia Ramps Up Movie Offerings

SINGAPORE: HBO Asia is adding movies from The Walt Disney Company, including Muppets Christmas Carol, and Tanweer Films to its lineup for 2012.

HBO Asia subscribers will have access to Disney titles such as Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting and The Talented Mr. Ripley, in the new year. The company is working with Tanweer Films to secure content for movie titles, including Around the World in 80 Days, Coriolanus, Limitless, Nim’s Island, Rampart, Step Up 2: The Streets, The Ides of March and more, to air on HBO in India and South Asia.

“We are very pleased to rekindle our working relationship with Disney and to have established a new content partner with Tanweer Films,” said Magdalene Ew, the senior VP of marketing, creative and content at HBO Asia. “The new content we have acquired from Disney and Tanweer will bolster HBO Asia’s existing extensive and varied content offerings, giving subscribers even more variety and choice of the best Hollywood movies and award-wining series that are currently on our bouquet of channels.”
