SINGAPORE: The E! channel in Asia is ramping up its local productions, including a series of E! News Asia interstitials.

There are currently more than 500 hours of original programming running on E! Asia. Starting this month, the network will be running three new versions of E! News Asia interstitials, each lasting around one minute. There are also a slate of E! Specials coming to the network, featuring exclusive and intimate portraits of celebrities, both international and from Asia. The specials will be rolling out in the second and third quarters of 2013.

David Gunson, the VP of Southeast Asia channels at Universal Networks International, said, “We are investing in more Asian productions to ensure our range of programming reflects the content E! viewers are passionate about watching. E! has continually attracted audiences with original shows such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians and E! News. Compelling content that is especially relevant to our audiences in Asia will magnify E!’s strength as a singular destination for television audiences seeking a distinctively original and topical entertainment experience.”
