Disney+, Disney+ Hotstar Line Up New AsiaPac Originals

The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific has added additional originals from Korea and Japan to launch on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar in the coming months.

The additions include the Korean crime fantasy thriller Connect, which tells the story of Ha Dongsoo, a man with a secret who is kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters. It is a unique collaboration between Japanese director Miike Takashi and an all-star Korean cast.

The dating show Pink Lie sees a group of contestants, each armed with one lie about themselves, come together in an attempt to find the love of their lives. Hosted by Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, Lee Sunbin (Work Later, Drink NowAir Murder), Song Wonseok (Business Proposal, One the Woman) and YouTube influencer Ralral, Pink Lie debuts exclusively on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar on October 5.

The roster also includes the global debut of the hit Korean thriller Big Mouth. A Star original, Big Mouth is a 16-part thriller about a third-rate lawyer who takes on a murder case in order to turn his career around but soon ends up entangled in a conspiracy.

There are also two new Japanese originals: Gannibal and Sumo Do, Sumo Don’t! Sumo Do, Sumo Don’t! is a coming-of-age story starring Shono Hayama (Murder at Shinjinso, Edomoiselle) and Rikka Ihara (Hoshizora no Mukou no Kuni, In His Chart). Gannibal is a suspense-filled thriller starring Yuya Yagira (The Fish Tale, Pay to Ace) and Riho Yoshioka (Blind Witness, The Romance Manga Artist).
