HONG KONG: Celestial Tiger Entertainment has closed agreements for more than 1,700 hours of series and feature films from the Lionsgate catalogue with broadcasters and entertainment platforms in Southeast Asia and Greater China.

Season five of Mad Men is headed to FOX International Channels’ FX network in Asia first and exclusively. Anger Management is going to the Comedy Central Asia channel. HBO Asia added Boss to its lineup. Nashville is set for broadcast on beTV and Sony Entertainment Television (SET).

Celestial Tiger also concluded deals for the pay-TV rights for a number of films with HBO Asia and FIC. This includes The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2, the Hunger Games franchise, the Impossible and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D being licensed for premiere on FOX Movies Premium in Asia. On HBO Asia, the films Step Up Revolution, Man on a Ledge and Warm Bodies will premiere first and exclusively. HBO will also premiere several titles that are being released this year, including Red 2, The Tomb and Transcendence.

“The scope of our recent licensing deals reflects the tremendous appetite for Lionsgate content in the Asian marketplace,” said Wendy Reeds, CTE’s executive VP of content sales and distribution. “It’s exciting to represent some of the most-talked about series and movies of the past year and I’m pleased we have found ideal homes for them in Asia. Comedy Central is perfect for Anger Management‘s irreverent humor, HBO Asia will add to their critically-acclaimed series with Boss, Nashville will appeal to beTV’s and SET’s targeted female audience, and Mad Men will continue to air first on FX.”
