A joint distribution deal has been reached that sees Bomanbridge Media representing the original songwriting/singing talent format Sing My Song in the Asia-Pacific region.

The series, which has run for three seasons in China on CCTV 3, focuses on the skills of original songwriting and performing. The format was created by Canxing/Star China International Media. While Bomanbridge holds AsiaPac rights, Small World IFT handles sales in all other markets.

“Bomanbridge was attracted to the format Sing My Song—an extremely popular Chinese show—due to its musical originality and creativity,” said Sonia Fleck, the CEO of Bomanbridge. “Asians love their musicians with a passion and Sing My Song is sure to be a major success outside of China as well. We look forward to bringing news of a format deal for AsiaPac in the near future.”

Tim Crescenti, the president at Small World IFT, commented, “We simply have always dug this format—what makes Sing My Song so original and different is the emphasis on writing and recording original music. This is not another karaoke cover show. Sing My Song truly creates the total artist, from writing to performing.”

Iris Xia, the deputy general manager of Star China International Media, said, “Canxing/Star China is thrilled that Small World and Bomanbridge will take our hit format Sing My Song to the world. They are both stellar companies with strong histories in format distribution and production. We look forward to hearing new original songs from around the globe, created in many local versions of Sing My Song.”
