The Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) is set to host a virtual summit next week focused on the future of streaming video with a lineup that includes executives from iQIYI, Discovery, Netflix, Viu and WarnerMedia, among others.

The OTT Virtual Summit will be held over four days in two-hour blocks, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Singapore time, June 29 to July 3. Panels will explore such topics as the challenges and opportunities of going direct-to-consumer, advertising during COVID, the future of the video buy and connecting with consumers.

Yang Xianghua, president of membership and the overseas business group at iQiyi, will deliver a keynote address, sharing the platform’s roadmap for the next two years. Other speakers include Simon Robinson, president of Discovery Asia Pacific and CFO of Discovery International; Nikko Acosta, senior VP of content business and product management at Globe Telecom; Tony Zameczkowski, VP of business development at Netflix Asia; Helen Sou, chief business officer for Asia at Viu; Clément Schwebig, managing director for Southeast Asia, Pacific and China at WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks; Tarun Katial, CEO of ZEE5 India and Gourav Rakshit, COO of Viacom18 Digital Ventures.

“While we regret the lack of physical interaction, it seems appropriate that the OTT Summit should itself be delivered to you over the top,” said AVIA CEO Louis Boswell. “These are indeed unprecedented times for the video industry, but I am excited at the opportunity of delivering a virtual event which will be available to more participants than ever and am looking forward to a week of stimulating conversations.”
