Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks, Asia has signed a deal with FremantleMedia International to acquire the entertainment reality shows America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.

New seasons of Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent are set to premiere on AXN on April 15 and in mid-May, respectively. They join Asia’s Got Talent on the AXN schedule.

“This is the first time in Asia that the three biggest versions of an iconic franchise will be available to viewers on a single pay-TV channel,” said Virginia Lim, the senior VP and head of content, production and marketing at SPT Networks, Asia. “Got Talent is the most successful reality format in the world and with the addition of the American and British versions to our existing programming lineup, AXN will further strengthen its position as the true home of talent in Asia.”

The announcement follows SPT Networks’ recent acquisition of American Idol from FremantleMedia International. The show returned to Asian screens last month on AXN’s sister network, Sony Channel.

American Idol is a series that truly revolutionized the TV landscape and pioneered the music competition genre. It now has a stylish new home on Sony Channel, and fits within the channel’s promise to provide fans with content that they can live, breathe and crave,” added Lim.
