SINGAPORE: A+E Networks Asia and Ideate Media are launching a regional production partnership designed to further drive content development in Asia.

The aim of the partnership is to stimulate new original production opportunities supported by A+E Networks and its channel portfolio, along with Ideate, which is owned by Astro Overseas and Khazanah. Production partners can access regional government incentives.

“As A+E Networks Asia expands into broader, mass markets, the importance of regionally-produced content is becoming more prevalent,” said Sean Cohan, the executive VP of international at A+E Networks. “This fund will mean more local stories that can complement a robust program pipeline coming from our U.S. channels—HISTORY, A&E Network and Lifetime.”

“We see ourselves as a key player in the region as a magnet for content development and innovation, attracting the best ideas and talent,” said Zainir Aminullah, the CEO of Ideate Media. “In a short period of time, we’re already making encouraging progress in IP acquisition and development both locally, and internationally. Ideate's partnership with a prestigious global company such as A+E Networks is an excellent platform which we are confident will become a well-oiled machinery to bring great content to the world.”
