TV4 Group, Canal Digital in New Nordic Distribution Deal

STOCKHOLM, February 14:
Sweden’s TV4 Group has signed a new two-year distribution agreement that will
provide Canal Digital’s subscribers access to its new channel TV4 Science
Fiction, which will launch on February 29.

The distribution deal
applies to all of Canal Digital’s platforms, including satellite, cable and IP,
and covers the channels TV4, TV4 Plus, TV4 Film, TV400, TV4 Fakta, TV4 Sport
and TV4 Science Fiction. There is also an earlier agreement in place between
Canal Digital and the TV4 Group concerning the distribution of TV4 Guld, TV4
Komedi and TV4 HD.

Broadcasting
simultaneously in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, TV4 Science Fiction is
the only channel in the Nordic region that is entirely dedicated to science
fiction. The channel provides series, movies and documentaries that allow the
viewer to visit every corner of the galaxy and beyond.

"We are very pleased
to see that the agreement between Canal Digital and the TV4 Group is now in
place, and it is extremely gratifying to know that TV4 Science Fiction is also
to be distributed via Canal Digital,” said TV4’s distribution manager, Märta
Rydbeck. “Science fiction is an exciting genre; it has a broad target group of
viewers. The agreement also represents a major step in Nordic co-operation.”

“Canal Digital and TV4
have a long record of good cooperation, reflected yet again by this new
agreement, and our joint investment in UEFA Euro 2008 coverage this summer,”
said Patrik Hofbauer, the managing director of Canal Digital Sweden.
