Turner Presents Adult Swim Titles

CANNES: A range of programming from Turner Broadcasting’s young adult animation brand Adult Swim is available for international buyers at MIPTV, including the cult shows Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim and Eric and Metalocalypse.

Robot Chicken is an Emmy Award-winning animated series that parodies popular culture. The show brings stop-motion animated toys and action figures to life in 3-D worlds. Two Robot Chicken: Star Wars specials in collaboration with LucasFilm include George Lucas voicing an animated version of himself and Mark Hamill reprising his original screen role as the voice of Luke Skywalker.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force follows the adventures of a group of mystery-solving fast-food animated characters. The team consists of Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad. Together, they try to thwart villains who have connections with Dr. Weird.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job features Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the creators of Adult Swim’s Tom Goes to the Mayor. A satirical comedy, the series highlights sketches, fake commercials, prank phone calls and off-the-wall humor.

The animated comedy Metalocalypse follows a fictitious half-American, half-Scandinavian death-metal band known as Dethklok. The band, and its members, are huge the world over, but not the brightest.

Screen Opus has been appointed by Turner Broadcasting to assist with the distribution of Adult Swim content. Nicolas Bonard, co-president and founder of Screen Opus, commented: "Adult Swim is a huge hit in the U.S. and we’re looking to replicate this success with TV syndication deals across EMEA. It’s a fantastic programming slate, which includes the Emmy award-winning series Robot Chicken. Working on behalf of Turner Broadcasting, we’ll be giving buyers the opportunity to purchase either individual shows or an entire branded block."
