Turner Broadcasting Restructures EMEA Licensing Team

LONDON, January 14: Turner Broadcasting its renaming its licensing business in EMEA from Cartoon Network Enterprises to Turner Enterprises, extending the division’s remit beyond kids’ properties.

Turner Enterprises will handle the licensing of brands from Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Turner Classic Movies, Adult Swim and documentary and feature programming from CNN. The new division will also represent the licensing of assets across mobile, online and DVD.

"The repositioning of Cartoon Network Enterprises to Turner Enterprises is a significant step forward for the EMEA business," said Alan Fenwick, the VP of Turner Enterprises. "Through the central distribution of resources and our close collaboration with Turner Media Innovations, we are able to offer streamlined, integrated opportunities to build standout franchises. This bespoke approach has been applied to our core children’s properties with great success and we now look forward to developing our adult brands, as well as extending the licensing of our assets on digital platforms."

In related news, Turner Enterprises has struck a three-year, multi-territory deal with Warner Home Video that will see content from Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, CNN and Turner Classic Movies distributed on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.K., Ireland, Spain, Italy, France, Benelux, Switzerland and Germany.
