Tracey Ullman Heads to Showtime

LOS ANGELES, January 17: Emmy Award-winner Tracey Ullman
will star in a new sketch-comedy series, Tracey Ullman's State of the Union, which
premieres on Showtime on March 30 at 10 p.m.

Tracey Ullman's State of the Union will feature Ullman’s satirical look at a day in the
life of America—from the country’s celebrity obsessed, 24-hour news
culture to original impersonations, skits and parodies. Additionally, Ullman
has created a new lineup of original characters that reflect a cross-section of
American society, including an Indian pharmacist, a homeless woman without
health insurance and a soldier on temporary leave from Iraq, among many others.

"I have always loved Tracey Ullman ever since I was a
young development executive at FOX when she was doing the original Tracey
Ullman Show
," says Robert Greenblatt,
the president of entertainment at Showtime Networks. "She is a
one-of-a-kind comedienne and sketch-comedy performer, a true artist. We are so
proud to bring her to Showtime in a completely new show that will again
showcase what she does best, and in this case, she will be looking at the wide
cross-section of Americans and both celebrating us and sending us up."
