Total Wipeout to Become Motion Control Sensor Game

LONDON: Endemol Games UK is launching a motion control sensor game based on the Total Wipeout format, to be available through Facebook as well as through a downloadable app.

The game, Total Wipeout: Big Ball Run, features patented technology from OmniMotion Technology that makes motion control gaming available to anyone with a computer and a webcam. The game launches in the U.K. this month on Facebook. It will also be available as a downloadable application on totalwipeout.co.uk.

Total Wipeout: Big Ball Run is set on a virtual obstacle course, much like what’s featured on the TV show. Players navigate the course using their bodies as the controller. An international rollout is anticipated following the U.K. launch.

Jurian van der Meer, the managing director for Endemol Games, said: “This is a truly ground breaking product and it’s hugely exciting that this is one of the first games of this type to launch on Facebook. Total Wipeout easily lends itself to branded gaming applications and we think viewers of the TV show will love motion sensor technology. Total Wipeout: Big Ball Run will be truly accessible as it offers value for money to fans—all players need is a webcam and their own body.”
