Total Sports Asia Grows Footprint for D1GP

TOKYO: Total Sports Asia (TSA) has signed new distribution deals for the D1 Grand Prix Professional Drift series (D1GP) with partners in Russia and the Middle East, marking the first time the events will be seen in multiple countries outside Japan.

A deal with Auto Television takes the D1GP into 15 countries, including Russia and the CIS and the Baltics. Al Dawri and Al Kass Sports Channel in Qatar will air the events across the Middle East and North Africa. D1PG spotlights the professional level of car drifting.

Chung See Liang, the managing director of Total Sports Asia, said, “Our long term alliance with D1GP will see us jointly producing for the first time in D1GP’s history television programming in English for the international market. Our experience and research has shown us that the popularity of Drifting is growing exponentially worldwide, and D1GP is the pinnacle of drifting. We are already in advanced negotiations with several other broadcasters overseas which will see the international broadcast footprint of D1GP expand further very, very soon.”
