Tony Vinciquerra Named Chairman & CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment

Anthony Vinciquerra, who spent almost ten years at Fox, will become chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE).

Vinciquerra will take up the role on June 1, reporting to Sony’s president and CEO, Kazuo Hirai. Vinciquerra will replace Michael Lynton, who announced in January that he would step down this spring. Vinciquerra will oversee the studio’s corporate groups and its lines of business: SPE’s Motion Picture Group, Sony Pictures Television and SPE’s Worldwide Media Networks division.

Currently, Vinciquerra is senior advisor to Texas Pacific Group in the technology, media and telecom sectors. Prior to this, he spent almost ten years at Fox, where he served as chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group. Before Fox, Vinciquerra was with Hearst Corporations broadcasting group and CBS’s television group.
