ATLANTA: TNT has picked up the off-net rights to the CBS hit Hawaii Five-0, currently in its first season in the U.S., for launch in the summer of 2014.

A top-rated show this season on Monday nights—and considered a sure-fire renewal for season two—the show stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park. It is represented worldwide by CBS Studios International.

The TNT deal was negotiated with CBS Television Distribution (CTD) by Linda Yaccarino, executive VP and COO of Turner Entertainment ad sales/marketing and acquisitions. This is TNT’s latest off-net purchase, following the acquisition of The Mentalist, which comes to the network later this year.

"Hawaii Five-0 is a top-notch procedural drama that has already built a strong following," said Michael Wright, executive VP and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "With its great characters, intriguing stories, smart sense of humor and explosive action, Hawaii Five-0 is an ideal fit for TNT’s lineup."
