The History Channel en Espanol Debuts on DISH Network

NEW YORK/ENGLEWOOD, February 1: DISH Network has launched
The History Channel en espanol on its DishLATINO platform, marking the
operator’s 37th Spanish-language channel.

The A&E Television Networks-operated channel will offer
DishLATINO customers highlights from The History Channel’s offerings, along
with programming that centers around Latino roots and culture. Beginning this
month, the network will also premiere a special schedule of programming to
celebrate the its launch, including a week of Mexican-themed content, leading
into the two-hour premiere of The Mexican Revolution on February 24.

Network executives have also unveiled a special marketing
initiative to support the channel’s launch. New subscribers who sign up for any
of the DishLATINO packages will receive a DVD with two series about soccer: Height
of Passion: Argentina
(Pasion
extrema: Argentina
) and Champions
of the World: Mexico
(Campeones
del mundo: Mexico
).
