TG4 Acquires Six DECODE Series

TORONTO: Irish channel TG4 has picked up six series from DECODE Enterprises, a deal totaling more than 120 half-hours.

TG4 has taken on live-action My Spy Family and preschool animated shows Franny’s Feet, Animal Mechanicals and Bo on the GO! (season two). The Irish channel also went for older-skewing Chop Socky Chooks and Canadian/Hong Kong/Singapore co-production Clang Invasion.

My Spy Family follows a family of ex-spies, while Franny’s Feet chronicles the adventures of a little girl with magical shoes. Halifax Films’ Animal Mechanicals is an action adventure series for preschoolers, and Bo on the GO!, which uses motion-capture technology and CGI, is also from Halifax. Chop Socky Chooks, meanwhile, is aimed at at 7- to 11-year-olds. Clang Invasion is a fast-paced sci-fi comedy about the adventures of a dysfunctional crew of alien robots.

Josh Scherba, the VP of distribution at DECODE Enterprises, said: “We’re signing a number of these package deals which highlights that we have a solid library across the board. While our new shows are going from strength to strength, we’re also seeing continued demand for our more established series, across both live action and animation, and for all age groups.”
