TEN Names Maier to Lead Program Development

SYDNEY, March 13: Network Ten has appointed Rick Maier as
executive producer for development, effective April 1, reporting to the
broadcaster’s chief programming officer, David Mott.

Maier rejoins TEN after four
years in the independent production sector, most recently with dSp Beyond. His
appointment follows Tim Clucas's imminent departure as head of production and
development and, accordingly, a restructure of TEN's executive production
department. Mott noted: "Our entertainment production team has been
strengthened significantly over the past few years to include Stephen Tate,
Cathie Scott, Paul Leadon, Sandy Paterson, Dafyyd Williams and Maria Michael as
network EPs. Rick will concentrate on identifying promising formats and program
development—aside from drama and children's programming—while our
EPs maintain responsibility for programs in production; they will report to me,
as do Sue Masters (network head of drama) and Cherrie Bottger (network head of
children's programming)."
