Telepool Sees Strong Sales at AFM

MUNICH, November 17:
Telepool signed a number of deals at AFM, including sales from its catalogue of
family entertainment films.

The feature Lilly the Witch: The Dragon and the Magic
Book
was sold to various countries in South America as well as India,
France and Benelux. Lippels Dream was
picked up in Turkey.

The animated feature Niko and the Way to the Stars was sold
into India, and a number of negations with other international partners are
still ongoing. The German comedy U900 went
to Japan, Turkey and Poland.

Other Telepool sales
include the arthouse drama Dr. Alemán,
which was sold to Colombia. The romantic drama Marcello, Marcello went to Benelux, while The Waiting Game was picked up in Russia. The third installment in
the successful children's film franchise The
Wild Soccer Bunch
was sold to China.

Irina Ignatiew, the
executive VP of international for Telepool, said: "We are extremely
satisfied with our sales at this year's AFM. Also the reaction to acquiring the
world rights (excluding German-speaking territories) for Oliver Hirschbiegel's
project, Angel Face, was enormous.
There were numerous enquiries from international distributors of standing who
were more than interested to read the script. This shows, once again, that
Germany now stands for big names and the highest quality in the international
film industry, too."

"There was great
interest from international buyers," Ignatiew continued. "Even at
this stage, for the English-language drama Within
the Whirlwind
, which is why we are very excited about the Berlinale 2009,
where the film will be shown for the first time."
