Telepool Seals Deals Across Eastern Europe

MUNICH, June 26: Telepool
signed a host of deals at DISCOP for its slate of event movies, series and
documentaries, including a TV-movie package for Hungary and a doc bundle for
Poland.

Multiple seasons of the
action series Alarm for Cobra 11 were
sold to broadcasters in Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia and the Baltic states. DVD
deals for the series, which follows two cops patrolling the German Autobahn,
were signed for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, among others. Several seasons
of Berlin, Berlin, which
previously won the International Emmy for Best Comedy, were sold into Slovenia
as well.

“There was huge buyer
interest in our broad portfolio of high-quality event movies, exciting series
and fascinating documentaries,” said Irina Ignatiew, the executive VP of
international at Telepool. “In the past few years, DISCOP has become the top
film market for Central and Eastern Europe and that’s reflected in our
increasing sales revenue. The film market in these territories still has great
growth potential.”
