Telefónica, Alcatel-Lucent Team for Pilot Mobile Service in Spain

PARIS/MADRID, February 8: Telefónica is working with
Alcatel-Lucent on a pilot service in Spain delivering interactive TV, radio and
music to mobile handsets.

The tests started in early October 2006 and are scheduled to
run for six months. The service is using Alcatel-Lucent's "Unlimited
Mobile TV" solution, which is intended to enable the delivery of an
unlimited number of TV channels to an unlimited mobile audience with unlimited
coverage.

"We want to offer our customers the most complete
personalized best-in class multimedia experience, that brings the full benefit
of interactivity and excitement into their everyday lives,” said Cayetano
Lluch, the general director of technology at Telefónica Moviles Espana.

Telefonica Moviles Espana, Telefónica’s Spanish mobile
carrier, had more than 21 million customers at the end of Q3 2006.
