Taffy Lands Disney Deal for I Got a Rocket!

LOS ANGELES, October 16:
Taffy Entertainment’s 52×11-minute comedy series I Got a Rocket! has been picked up by Disney Channel in the U.K.,
Scandinavia and emerging markets, and is scheduled for an early 2009 debut.

I Got a Rocket! is produced by SLR
Productions, in association with Taffy Entertainment, Sunwoo Entertainment,
Peach Blossom, KI.KA ARD and Europool. The series, based on an Australian
children’s book of the same name, follows the adventures of 12-year-old
Vinnie Q, who receives an outer-space rocket with artificial intelligence as a
birthday present from his dad. The show is currently available in the U.S. on
Kabillion, Network Ten and Nickelodeon in Australia, Gulli in France and
Germany’s KI.KA, among others.

“Disney Channel is well
known for its great programming, which is why they have some of the most
popular shows in the world,” said Lionel Marty, the president of worldwide
sales for Taffy Entertainment. “It’s a
testament to the hard work of our production team that a high-caliber
broadcaster like Disney Channel has snapped up the show this quickly. We
anticipate kids in these territories will be drawn to the show in much the same
fashion as the countries where it is now on the air. It’s going to be a hit
with kids for a long time to come.”

Jonathan Boseley, the VP
of programming for Disney Channel U.K., commented, “We’re thrilled to be
launching I Got a Rocket!
Animation is part of Disney Channel’s DNA and we’re sure that kids will be
inspired by the fun-filled adventures that Vinnie Q and his friends undertake.”
