Supersize vs Superskinny Gets Spin-Off for Kids

LONDON: Channel 4 Features has commissioned Remarkable Television, an Endemol company, to produce a version of Supersize vs Superskinny that targets the trend of dysfunctional relationships with food starting at an increasingly young age.

In Supersize vs Superskinny Kids, two children, along with family members, will move into a clinic in an attempt to find a resolution to the problematic relationship they have with food and work to establish healthy eating solutions. The children and their families will be introduced to new foods, have their nutrition knowledge tested through interactive food quizzes, and receive practical steps to ensure they eat happily and healthily. After the food swap, the children will be provided with a healthy eating and exercise plan. Both the swap and new food regime will take place under medical supervision.

Channel 4’s deputy head of features, Andrew Jackson, said: “The number of children suffering from eating disorders and obesity is extremely worrying. This series will be packed with advice for parents on how to guide their children towards a more happy and healthy relationship with food.”

Remarkable Television’s managing director, Colette Foster, added: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of children who have come forward to take part in this series. We’re responding to the very real desire of many young people seeking help to tackle their over and under-eating.
