Sundance Takes CABLEready Combover Doc

NORWALK, August 15: CABLEready has secured its first-ever
deal with the Sundance Channel, licensing the documentary Combover: The
Movie
for a spring 2007
broadcast in the U.S.

The hour-long film from No Barking Productions follows filmmaker
Chris Marino as he travels across the United States in search of the perfect
combover—the men’s hairstyle where hair from one side is combed over a
bald spot.

The film has also been licensed to Fox International
Channels Italy for the CULT channel, Belgium’s BeTV (through French
distribution company ZED), TV4 in Sweden, and Zone Reality in the U.K. and
Ireland. Fox in Italy also picked up JFK: Investigation Reopened, a one-hour special, for its FOX Crime Channel.

“We loved Chris’ film from the moment it started and are so
glad that Sundance Channel feels the same way,” said Gary Lico, the president
and CEO of CABLEready. “Combover’s success both here in the U.S. and abroad
demonstrates viewers’ continued interest in off-beat, theatrical quality
documentaries that tell universal stories, both funny and poignant, in
innovative and unexpected ways.”
