Starz Sets Preview Campaign for Kelsey Grammer’s Boss

ENGLEWOOD: Through partnerships with its cable, satellite and telco affiliates, Starz Entertainment will allow some 76 million households to sample its new original series Boss—from Lionsgate and starring Kelsey Grammer—beginning today, a week ahead of its premium cable debut.

Viewers can access the first episode for free online on Starz.com and on Facebook, plus on demand via Comcast, DIRECTV, DISH Network, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Mediacom Communications Corporation, Insight Communications, Armstrong, Midcontinent Communications, Buckeye CableSystem, GCI, Blue Ridge Communications, Massillon Cable TV, and Antietam Cable Television. Comcast, DISH Network and Charter Communications will also carry the episode on their online platforms. It will also be aired on DISH Network’s 101 Channel prior to the series premiere and on DIRECTV’s Audience Network following its October 21 debut. Focused on a fictional Chicago mayor (Grammer) with a dark secret, the show—the first episode of which was directed by Gus Van Sant—has already been renewed for a second season.

"We are delighted that the interest from affiliates in sampling the series across all platforms has been so strong, netting an unprecedented level of Boss sampling opportunities," said Ed Huguez, executive VP of affiliate sales and marketing for Starz Entertainment. "As witnessed by the early season two renewal, we feel great about the prospects for this magnificent series."
