Danish Sale for ITV Global Dramas

LONDON: ITV Global Entertainment has sold a package of more than 200 hours of British drama to Denmark’s DR Television.

This includes the sale of Lewis, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Wycliffe, A Touch of Frost, Agatha Christie’s Marple and Agatha Christie’s Poirot. ITV Studios’ Lewis is the worldwide hit detective series starring Kevin Whately, and is broadcast in 100 territories, most recently being acquired by France 3 for prime time. Agatha Christie’s Poirot starring David Suchet and Agatha Christie’s Marple are also murder-mystery works.

Kaare Schmidt, an acquisitions executive for series at DR Television, said: "We’re delighted to be announcing this major acquisition of drama for our schedules from ITV. We proudly broadcast some of the best original drama in the world—which this latest portfolio of proven hits will compliment perfectly."
