Starz Launches Hollywood-Inspired Animated Shorts

ENGLEWOOD, September 1: Starz has begun airing a series of
animated shorts called The ‘Wood that
the premium channel is billing as a “tongue-in-cheek homage” to Hollywood.

The first shorts featuring the six “cele-bear-ties” are
currently being rolled out on Starz.
The next round of storylines featuring the bears is in production and
will debut on Starz this month. "Starz loves the fascinating, creative and
crazy world of Hollywood and those who inhabit it," said David Charmatz,
the senior VP of channel management for Starz Entertainment. "The 'Wood is our tongue-in-cheek homage to the characters and
spectacles that make the movies."

Each character in The 'Wood embodies a different celebrity persona. These include Arctic Circle, a
rapper turned actor; Bruin McTeague, an action hero who is secretly afraid of
guns, heights, violence and more; Epiffany, the toast of young Hollywood;
Maximillian Rugg, the aging legend with a newfound teen fan base; Roman Fjords,
who often takes his jokes too far; and Ursula Majors, the philanthropic female lead
who is positive that her way is the right way.

The 'Wood is created
exclusively for Starz by 23D Films, a full service design, motion graphics and
animation production studio.
