StarHub, MNC in Carriage Agreement for Indonesian Channel

SINGAPORE/INDONESIA, March
12: Singaporean cable platform StarHub has finalized a deal with Indonesian
media company MNC for the carriage of the 24-hour general-entertainment network
MNC—The Indonesian Channel.

The new channel will
launch on StarHub on March 17. Aside from Japan, Singapore is only the second
country in the world outside of Indonesia to air the channel. MNC—The
Indonesian Channel, versioned in Bahasa Indonesian, showcases the best programs
from top Indonesian channels like RCTI (Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia), TPI
(Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia) and Global TV. The channel offers news and
entertainment programs such as Indonesian sitcoms, variety shows,
documentaries, music and reality shows.

StarHub
Digital Cable customers can add MNC—The Indonesian Channel to their subscription packages for S$8 (S$8.56 with
GST) monthly. StarHub will offer a 50-percent discount off of the channel’s
monthly subscription fee for the first three months to all customers who sign
up for MNC—The Indonesian Channel before April 30.

“The addition of
MNC—The Indonesian Channel to
StarHub Digital Cable’s suite of channels is proof of our commitment to offer
the most comprehensive range of TV content in Singapore,” said Patrick Lim,
StarHub’s VP of cable TV services. “Not only [do] we cater to the masses, the
niche audience groups are not forgotten either. In this case, we’re delighted
to offer yet another quality choice to the local Indonesian and Malay
communities, following the launch of Sensasi and complimentary access of TVRI.”

Sensasi, Singapore’s first
dedicated Malay entertainment channel, was launched in August last year and
TVRI is an Indonesian channel that is currently available for free to all
customers using the HubStation, digital or HD set-top boxes.
