Star Wars Set for Live-Action TV Adaptation

LOS ANGELES, October 17: George Lucas has begun work on a
live-action TV series based on the Star Wars franchise, according to published reports.

Lucas told the Los Angeles Times that the TV adaptation would focus on some of the
franchise’s less central characters. "The Skywalkers aren't in it, and
it's about minor characters," the filmmaker is quoted as saying. "It
has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of those people.
It's completely different. But it's a good idea, and it's going to be a lot of
fun to do."

Lucas is also working on the animated Star Wars: The
Clone Wars
, which is expected to be
produced at Lucas Animation before being pitched to the networks.
