Star Talent Lined Up for MIPCOM

PARIS: Among the talent heading to Cannes is actor, producer and director Robert Redford.

Redford is the founder of Sundance Channel, and will participate in a media Q&A session on Wednesday, October 6. Also on hand will be Gene Simmons, frontman of KISS and the star of the reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Simmons will deliver a keynote address with Bob DeBitteto, the president and general manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel, discussing how to build an entertainment brand.

From the highly anticipated new series The Walking Dead, executive producer Gale Ann Hurd and talent Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne Callies will be attending the market. They will be guests of Fox International Channels and Entertainment One.

David Walliams and Matt Lucas of the comedic series Little Britain will be attending MIPCOM to promote their new series, Come Fly With Me. BBC Worldwide will be introducing the show to international buyers, and the series is set to debut on BBC One later this year.

Further star talent headed to the market includes writer, producer and actor Ken Finkleman, for an exclusive preview of Good Dog, his new series from Shaftesbury Films. Entertainment One is bringing Beverly Hills, 90210 veteran Luke Perry to MIPCOM to present Goodnight for Justice. Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour will also be attending, to introduce Entertainment One’s new series Haven. Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick will be representing Hot in Cleveland, the new hit U.S. comedy show distributed by Endemol. Laura Innes, along with executive producer Steve Stark, will be attending MIPCOM on behalf of NBC Universal Television Distribution to promote the new drama series The Event.
