SPTI Secures Distribution Rights to New CBS Game Show

LONDON, May 23: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) is offering up the international
format rights to the new CBS game show Power of 10, created by Michael Davies.

The deal follows CBS’s
announcement this week that it would be picking up a full season of the show.
Created by Davies of Embassy Row, Power of 10 is a high stakes, studio-based
game show where contestants put their knowledge of public thinking and opinion
to the test. Using questions based on large-scale professional polling results,
Power of 10 covers all aspects of the country’s thoughts on topics from
politics to pop culture. Contestants compete for a cash prize that increases by
the power of 10 as the show progresses.

Antony Root, the senior VP
of European production, commented: “Power of 10 is an original and
groundbreaking game show, with a stellar, cutting edge team behind its
creation. We are thrilled to be distributing such an exciting format from the
number one U.S. game show production company, Embassy Row, which has produced
so many successes. Recently, broadcasters have been looking for “educated
entertainment” and Power of 10 fits this bill. We believe that this show will
become a weekly television event as everyone tunes in to see whether or not
they agree with contestants’ view of public opinion.”
