Spotify to Now Include Video Streaming

NEW YORK: Spotify is looking to evolve into a full 24-hour entertainment destination, adding original videos and content from such companies as VICE, ABC, BBC, NBC and Comedy Central to its service, which already includes music.

For the first time, Spotify is adding video clips and audio shows to the music mix. The service will now include entertainment, news and clips from the likes of Turner and TBS, ABC, BBC, Comedy Central, Condé Nast Entertainment, ESPN, Fusion, Maker Studios, NBC, TED and VICE, among other outlets. This includes Top Gear, BBC Earth and BBC Brit from the BBC Worldwide Entertainment Group. There's also a slate of original content, as well as exclusives such as Dance Move of the Day, produced by Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls brand, in addition to specially curated radio shows presented by such artists as Icona Pop, Jungle and Tyler the Creator.

“We’re bringing you a deeper, richer, more immersive Spotify experience,” said Daniel Ek, founder and CEO at Spotify. “We want Spotify to help soundtrack your life by offering an even wider world of entertainment with an awesome mix of the best music, podcasts and video delivered to you throughout your day. And we’re just getting started.”
