Sparks Continues Worldwide Success

STOCKHOLM: Little Rock Star, Go Go Stop, Intensive Caring and Criss Cross Live are among the shows delivering strong results for Sparks Network in the international market.

The kids’ talent search Little Rock Star launched on TF1 in France with 5.2 million viewers and a 27-percent share. TF1 aired the events as a 145-minute special, and a series treatment is now in development. The show, created by Elephant & Cie, watches is talented kids compete to become the ultimate "Little Rock Star," performing solo acts as well as duets with famous singers.

The Turkish adaptation of the kids’ format Go Go Stop was named The Most Liked TV Program at the Children Fest award ceremony. Go Go Stop airs Saturdays on Kanal D, but has also aired in Belgium and is on its fourth year in Ireland on TG4. The format was created by Ambience Entertainment.

The Australian version of Intensive Caring, The Waiting Room, has been a strong performer on Nine Network in Australia, where it scored a 32.7-percent share. The BlazHoffski format has also done well for ATV in Australia. The format tells real-life stories from the reception hall of a hospital. Also from BlazHoffski, Hello Goodbye scored a number of recent deals, including a pilot for the U.S. The show is also in preproduction in Greece, France and Switzerland. The format spotlights stories from the arrivals and departure halls of a busy airport.

The variety format Criss Cross Live is set to launch in Finland on MTV3 on Sunday. Moskito TV is producing 12 episodes of the format based on a cross-word puzzle game. Criss Cross Live has already proved to be a success in Sweden on TV4.

The behind-the-news magazine 7-to-8 has been airing with strong results on Abu Dhabi TV in the Middle East. In France, the show is airing for its seventh year on TF1. The Abu Dhabi TV version contains two segments from the TF1 show, as well as two locally produced segments. The show is from Sparks member Imagic.

BlazHoffski’s Mind Over Matter scored above average ratings on Net5 in Holland. The show features two comedians hosting alongside a panel of celebrities as they explore, and laugh at, human behavior and scientific facts. The format is ready for the international market, with a pilot made in Finland by Moskito.
