SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International’s India: A Love Story has launched in South Korea, marking the first time the telenovela has been broadcast 100 percent in HD on the Asian continent.

India: A Love Story is to be transmitted to more than 4 million Korean homes via the country’s main delivery platforms—cable, satellite and IPTV—by Korean group EPG. The novela has already notched up sales in 100 countries.

"It’s an important moment for us in Asia," said Raphael Corrêa Neto, the director of sales at Globo TV International. "South Korea is a competitive market and has a rich and dynamic media industry." He added, "A large part of the channel’s programming grid is made up of programs from TV Globo. Now viewers can watch an award-winning telenovela that explores the differences between Eastern and Western cultures. We’re eager to see the telenovela’s impact."
