Smithsonian Networks Bolsters Team

Cathy Perifimos has been promoted to VP and head of legal and business affairs at Smithsonian Networks.

Previously, Perifimos held the position of counsel and director of legal and business affairs at the network. She has worked at the company for five years and now oversees all programming-related legal and business affairs.

Prior to joining Smithsonian Networks, Perifimos served as an associate at Dembitzer & Dembitzer, a role which saw her represent a variety of clients in the areas of film development, production and distribution. She also previously worked for literary agency Curtis Brown.

Tom Hayden, president of Smithsonian Channel, said: “Since joining Smithsonian Networks in 2014, Cathy has been a vital part of coalescing efforts between all departments, helping in our overall goal to efficiently produce and promote top quality programming. Cathy’s keen legal expertise, knowledge and passion for the media industry and her ability and desire to problem solve will serve her well as our new head of legal.”
