Skywriter Launches New eBook Technology

TORONTO: Skyreader Media, the recently established eReading division of Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group, has unveiled Skyreader, a new patent-pending technology platform that transforms books and other IP into interactive eBook apps.

Skyreader was created to deliver Skywriter’s library of TV properties and 1,500-plus children’s book titles to eReaders around the world. The media-rich technology platform is designed to reduce the time it takes to translate books and other quality content into eReader apps. The apps are ready for iOS and emerging tablet devices.

In celebration of the Skyreader launch, Skywriter Media is showcase a lineup of its first interactive eBook apps. Robo Buddy, targeting kids 5 to 9, is the story of two best friends who will do anything for each other. Coyote’s Tale, also for those 5 to 9, is a novel based on a Mexican folk tale that teaches kids courage and win to help turn around tough situations. Banana Ninja skews toward the 9-to-13 demo. The story is a tale of injustice and courage that teaches a lesson about the benefit of using your head before using your hands. For the 9-to-14 set, Mars Colony tells of a family’s adventure on Mars, set in the year 2130.
