Sky Commits to 111 Pictures Reality Show

LAS VEGAS, January 16:
U.K.-based production and distribution outfit 111 Pictures is at NATPE this
week showcasing two new reality shows, including Voyage: Killing Brigitte
Nielsen
, which has been picked up
by BSkyB.

The 6×54-minute series with Nielsen is scheduled to
air on the travel and entertainment channel Sky Travel next month. In
the first episode, ten people are brought to Greece to make a documentary on
sailing. Four are actors and the rest volunteers. The six unsuspecting men and
women who are being secretly filmed encounter Nielsen and a range of mishaps.

The
second reality show available from 111 is the 8×30-minute Road to Hell. It is a hidden camera show written, produced, directed by and
starring Alki David. In it,
a limo driver tempts men into the back of his limo with
attractive women and then plays pranks on them. David, the chairman of 111 Pictures, commented:
“Our sales team is bringing two very unique, brand new reality shows to offer
to broadcasters at NATPE, which should attract major attention due to the very
nature of the shows. We will also be selling our library of films and look
forward to a very successful market.”

In other news,
111 Pictures and U.S.-based
Envisionext have launched 111PIX.com, a media download service offering feature
films, television programming and other entertainment content for viewing on
all platforms worldwide. David noted, “For the first time, content owners have
a one-stop shop where they will receive the highest level of security on all
entertainment downloads worldwide as well as a tracking and accountancy system,
whilst being able to offer a unique multi-faceted service to the consumer at a
very reasonable price.”

He added, “111PIX.com is
an online distribution system made by a distributor for distributors. It plays
in the same space as the sell through/rental retail market and will appeal to
the distributors in much the same way. Furthermore, the revenue recognition and
payment systems already designed allow for swift collection of income back to
the distributor and studio.”

The initial cost structure
for content providers involves a one-time $18/hour fee to encode the content to
multiple online formats with discounts made to libraries exceeding 100 titles.
Consumers will pay approximately $3.50 per movie.

111 Pictures will launch
its video library SuperMall in the third quarter of 2007. Currently there are
over 900 titles available, but the company plans to add more over the next
months. The company has committed to spending more than $200 million to promote
the SuperMall through private equity and international investments.
