LONDON: Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD have commissioned a new series from Pulse Films that serves as a follow up to the successful show Pineapple Dance Studios, featuring Louie Spence.

Tentatively titled Showbusiness, the 13×1-hour series will be a performance-documentary take on the showbiz industry. The new show will spotlight London’s West End. Spence was introduced to Sky 1 viewers first in Pineapple Dance Studios. This time, he is on a mission to put on a huge West End review show. A host of other faces from the original series will make a cameo in the new show.

Celia Taylor, the commissioning editor for factual at Sky1 HD, commented:"We’re going bigger, funnier and even more even more creatively bonkers in our new series. It will be a landmark and unique take on the showbiz industry that cements Sky 1 HD as the birthplace and rightful home of performance documentary."

Jonathan Stadlen, executive producer for Pulse Films, added: "This show will be Pineapple on steroids. We have some of the best characters on TV lined up to appear in this series. I am really excited about building on the idea of a performance documentary and am thrilled to be working with Sky 1 HD to make this series bigger, bolder and funnier. By casting our net wider we will be able to explore the showbiz world in a way that has never been done before."
