Singaporean IPTV Platform Reaches Subscriber Milestone

SINGAPORE: Singapore Telecommunications’ IPTV platform mio TV has passed the 100,000 customer mark as it celebrates its second birthday.

To celebrate the milestones, the platform is offering all new and existing customersa special selection of ten movies that can be watched on-demand for free. Additionally, for the entire month of July, all other movies from mio TV’s video-on-demand selection can be purchased at S$2 each.

“It is nice to be able to give something back to our loyal customers who have helped us get to where we are today,” said Low Ka Hoe, the director of the IPTV business at SingTel. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support and I sincerely hope they will enjoy watching the movies we have chosen for them with their friends and family this July.”

Launched in July 2007, mio TV delivers 61 channels, of which 19 are on-demand channels. Its launched heralded the end of StarHub’s monopoly on the Singaporean pay-TV market.
