Showtime Gets Baltic Rollout

STOCKHOLM: NonStop Television has started the rollout for a new version of the movie channel Showtime, customized for the Baltic region, starting with a launch in Estonia.

Elion, Starman and STV in Estonia are the first operators to carry the new channel, with launches in Latvia and Lithuania to follow in the beginning of 2010. During the first season, Showtime will present films such as Open Range with Kevin Costner, Paranoid with Jessica Alba and Once a Thief from director John Woo.

"Elion’s IPTV service has over 100,000 subscribers among Estonian and Russian households and it is important for us to offer a wide and high-quality selection of channels," said Lilian Viirma, the public relations manager at Elion. "As movie channels are very popular, we are glad that Showtime launches on our network."

"We believe that Showtime will be a very welcomed addition to the Baltic TV landscape," added Ignas Scheynius, the CEO at NonStop Television. "Showtime is one of our most successful channels with its attractive content appealing to a large audience."
