Sesame Workshop Fills Newly Created New-Media Role

NEW YORK: Daniel Lewis has been named to the newly created role of director of new media communications at Sesame Workshop, where he will work to leverage social media to extend the company’s reach.

Lewis previously served as a consultant for new media, marketing and business development, advising start-up companies on executing partnership and distribution deals, audience development, community management and search-engine optimization. Lewis also held the post of general counsel and VP of business development for Wikia, where he negotiated and executed on partnerships with the Washington Post, Twitter, Reuters, AccuWeather and Digg. Prior to that, he was co-founder and general manager at ArmchairGM.com, a user-generated media outfit using wiki-based and custom community blogging software.
